'Time Out for Ginger'
Debuts Friday

Nov. 13th, and 14th, are the days to see this year's Senior Class Play, Time Out For Ginger. The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. in the evening, and 2 p.m. at the matinee performance; but if you can't wait till then, here's a preview.

Ginger Carol (Mary Leonard and Dawn Piotter) has a problem, she wants to be a football player. After all, shouldn't everyone have the right to do what she wants, regardless of race, religion, or sex? Her father, Howard (Dave Humphreys), thought so, at least when he made a speech saying just that. Then Ginger decided to go out for the squad and made it.

Agnes (Chris Sparrow and Roberta Wells), Ginger's mother, doesn't see things that way. Joan (Peg Callaghan and Gail Horn) is on her mother's side. In fact, she's mortified because of her sister's "lack of dignity." Eddie Davis (Kent Krautstrunk and Jordy Minerva), Joan's boyfriend, who is the BMOC at high school captain of the football team, four-letter man, letter sweater and all - thinks Ginger is a real creep, but the feeling is mutual.

One day Eddie calls Ginger's boyfriend, Tommy Green (Jim Brondy and Pat LaSalle), a sissy. Ginger is fit to be tied, so she challenges to a race and wins!

There's Jeannie (Gail Horn and Debbie Quinn), who turns actress in order to get out of gym class. Also Lizzie (Pat Gass and Val Dawson), the maid, who is all-out for Ginger to make the team. Which, is exactly what Ginger does.
Then, in walks Mr. Wilson (Bob Sherwin and Bill Strand), the high school principal, who is upset because of the student body's reaction to Ginger's athletics.

Finally, Ed Hoffman (Dick Cornelius and Kenn Hempel), steps into the picture as the villain, and he tells Howard that either Ginger quits the team, or Howard loses his job at the bank.

Of course, Howard sticks up for Ginger, and the hilarious results lead to the perfect ending of a wonderful comedy.
