Gridders Try for Share, of Title

The varsity gridmen journey to Glenbrook North for their final game of the season which starts tonight at 8 p.m. A victory is a must if the Westmen hope to regain a share of first place in the Conference standings.

Two heartbreaking defeats in their last two games have dropped the Warriors from first to second place. The Warriors (4-2-0) must beat the Spartans tonight, and Prospect (5-1-0) and GB South (5-1-0) must lose if Maine West is to end the season in first place.

The Warriors lost a hardfought 16-12 battle with the Prospect Knights last Saturday. The game-deciding TD came on an 18-yard pass play with only 16 seconds left in the game. The results were as follows:

MAINE WEST
. . 6 6 0 0
Prospect . . . . . . . 7 0 0 9

Following is a summary of the 14-13 loss suffered by West's Warriors at Deerfield:

Deerfield . . . . . . 7 7 0 0

Touchdowns for Maine West were scored by Curren (87-yard kick-off return) and Cichowski (4-yard run). Smith kicked one extra point.
