| "Older girls going out with younger boys" is Bob Kunkle's pet peeve. Bob is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. This year he earned his second letter in football. Winning last year's Deerfield game was his most exciting moment since the game assured Maine of the Mid-Suburban Championship. He advises anyone going out for football to "keep trying all the time; give 100 per cent." Bob finds that the hardest part of training is keeping in shape during the summer. This summer he did much weightlifting and running. He also worked as life guard for the Park District. |
Bob feels that sports help a person to find himself, and that they teach the importance of team work. To keep up with studies, Bob says that one must learn "to budget time and use study halls." He thinks that school spirit has improved over the last year and commends Pep Club for doing a wonderful job. Bob feels, like most other athletes, that the coaches are the best in the state; and he also believes that the teachers are very fine. Bob plans to attend a small college where he can play football. He hopes to get a sports scholarship. He wants to teach mathematics and coach. |
