Traffic Court Convenes Wednesdays |
||||||||||
| The chief judge of this year's Maine West traffic court is Bob Means '65. The assistant judge is Steve Wischweh '66, and the secretary is Kathy Taylor '65. Members and officers of the traffic court are picked by and are members of the Student Council. Being able to drive to school is a privilege. Approximately 300 Maine West students drive, to school every day. In order to protect this privilege, the 1964-65 traffic court will be held. The sponsor of traffic court is the Driver's Education Department chairman, Mr. Victor Giovaninni. The |
court will be held every Wednesday at 7:30 am, in C-116. Students are summoned before the court for various reasons: reckless driving, speeding ( the speed limit on school grounds is 20 mph), and improper parking or parking in the wrong lot (no backing into parking spaces is allowed). The most violated rule, however, is not having a parking sticker. Every student driver must have one on his windshield before he is allowed to drive to school. Stickers have been on sale for the past month in the cafeteria and can still be obtained in C-109. Prices are 25 cents for seniors, 50 cents for juniors, and 75 cents for sophomores. |
