Musclemen Drop 1st Meet |

| The varsity gymnastics team dropped its first meet of the season to the Evanston Wildcats, 83-47, on Nov. 25th. A Wildcat took first place in the tumbling event with 58 points, nudging out Mike Keller by only seven points. On the rings, the Warriors fell to the Wildcats, tallying six points to Evanston's 16. The Wildcats gained victory in a side horse contest, 14-8. Placing first in this event was another Evanston contestant, showing 82. Maine's Bill Bach placed second with 79 points. |
In the parallel bars competition, a close contest arose be-tween the two rivals, but again Evanston reigned victorious, scoring 12 against Maine's 10. Marty Dettmer was the only West player to take first in an event. He did so with a well earned 76. On the horizontal high bars, 13-9 was Evanston's winning score. Dick Braun was the closest Warrior to this total, having 70 points to 84 for Evanston. The trampoline event was also bad for the Maine Warriors, which was lost 16-6. This Tuesday, the team will compete with West Leyden at 4:15 here. |
