Linda and john head girls' and boys' club
Linda has been very energetic during her four years at Maine. Presently she is president of Girls' Club, a varsity cheerleader and coordinator of V-Show. She belongs to the National Honor Society, Brotherhood, Thespian Society and Aquiana.
Her pet peeves are "Being pushed down the hail by people in a hurry; and being stopped by people walking too slow."
The most embarrassing moment she can remember was when she fainted in gym while she was, of all things, watching a movie!!
"The best things about Maine are the friendly spirit of the kids, and its high academic standing," commented Linda.
"I think the worst thing, though, is all of the red-tape you have to go through at the main office to get anything done."
Linda's most thrilling experience was the first time she cheered at one of our games. "It was an experience I'll never forget, it was so exciting."
This year Linda is taking Chemistry II, trigonometry, English IV, AP, and government.
She is looking forward to graduation and plans to attend either Purdue or Stanford University in California.
"Well, it's rather unusual, but first, I'd like to hear your qualifications."
"I'm Boys' Club president this year. We're sponsoring the.
"That's very nice. What else have you done?"
"I'm co-chairman of the Student Council Human Relations Committee, and have been on Student Council for three years, and I've been on the honor roll three years."
"Wonderful! What do you do as a hobby?"
"Lift weights and go on enjoyable dates."
"What are your favorite subjects?"
"Speech and English. I want to study law at Northwestern."
"Now, let's find out about a few specifics. Let's see, blue eyes-that's perfect. Hmmmm, that brown hair will have to go. Not too short ... 5 feet 10 inches tall. - .very good. What kind of food do you plan to eat on your lunch break?"
"What? Well, if you must know, probably pizza or spaghetti."
"Tsk, tsk, that's bad. It'll get all over your beard."
"You said you lift weights. Are you very strong?"
"I don't know, I guess so. I was out for wrestling and football."
"Excellent, then it won't matter if some of the kids are kinda hefty."
"What do you feel is important in life?"
"People should always set their own goals and be individuals."
"Well, you'll certainly be an individual... three pillows should do it."
"Wait a minute fella. What kind of job is this?"
"You are now the new Santa Claus at Topps Discount Store!"
"In that case, can I get on the job right away?"
"Why?"
"See that cute blonde over there? Maybe she'd give Santa her phone number, just in case he can't find her house Christmas Eve. Heh, heh-oops-I mean, ho, ho!"
