Debate team ties for first |

| Dec. 10th Maine West's Junior Varsity debate team tied with Oak Park for first place in the Maine West Invitational Debate Conference. The members of the team are Doug Bergman '67, Joy Heckenbach '66, Don Maruska '68, and Kitty Kinser '67. The topic debated was "Nuclear Weapons Should Be Controlled By An International Agency." There were 22 schools that participated in the conference. They had four rounds of debates with 42, debates each round. |
The next debate will be on Dec. 12th when the Suburban Interstate Debate League meets at York High School. Schools that will be participating are Maine West, North Chicago, Kenosha, Wisconsin, New Trier, Forest View, Prospect, Morton East, Morton West, Deerfield, Waukegan, and Highland Park. On March 13th the team will appear on Rebuttal. |
