German club celebrates the xmas season

St. Nicholas, with his bag of chocolate goodies, visited the German Club Christmas party yesterday. The "old" gentleman distributed candy and cookies to everyone and even joined in the singing of German carols. Old St. Nick turned out to be Harold Slotta '65, German Club treasurer.

Many activities and projects have filled German Club's calendar. The club saw a German movie at the Davis Theater in Chicago and shopped in the surrounding German neighborhood. More trips to the Davis are planned for this year. A newspaper, written entirely in German, is one of the club's main projects. Club members and other
German students contribute articles to the paper. The Homecoming float was another of the club's outstanding projects.

In May the club will hold its annual banquet, where all the members visit a German restaurant for dinner. Afterwards a few club members will put on a short play.

German Club officers this year are Bill Strand '65, president; Dan Barry '65, vice-president; Peggy Pepmiller '65, secretary; and Harold Slotta '65, treasurer. Mrs. Lucinda Karger sponsors the club.
