Prospect Next On Netmen Ball Schedule

The varsity five, boasting a 2-0 Conference record, will play host to Prospect at Maine East tonight at 8:15. The Warriors would like nothing better than to make it three straight over the Knights, who they whipped twice during last year's Conference season.

In their latest encounter the Warriors defeated a scrappy Glenbrook South team 60-52.

Glenbrook jumped off to a 4-0 lead and led 18-17 at the quarter. Stoney Jackson's basket (two of his 20 points) starting the second quarter gave the Warriors the lead for the first time in the game - a lead Maine never relinquished. The second quarter was definitely the turning point in the game, as the bucketmen outscored the Titans 15-4.

Glenbrook managed to whittle down the MW lead to five points at the end of the third quarter, 43-38. Jim Smith was used sparingly after committing his fourth personal foul.

The Westmen outscored the Titans 17-14 in the last quarter to put the game on ice.
The Warriors won their MidSuburban Conference opener demolishing Deerfield, 70-34. Jim Smith led all scorers with 16 points. Close behind him were Stoney Jackson and Chuck Peterson, with 15 points apiece.

The Warriors completely dominated DF on offense and defense, and led by 26 points as early as the second quarter.

JV's Drop Two

The JV's were downed by Glenbrook South 30-41. The game against Deerfield also spelled defeat for the bucketmen. The Warriors fell to DF, 61-53.

Sophs Split

The sophomore basketball team won the meet against Deerfield by a score of 59-52. Victory was short-lived, for the sophs were defeated at Glenbrook South, 52-48.

Frosh Lose Two

The freshman "A" and "B" teams also dropped games to Glenbrook South and Deerfield. The "A" squad lost 36-54 against GBS, and 42-70 against Deerfield. The final scores for the "B" team were MW 40, GBS 43, and MW 28, DF 39.
