Around the Campus

Pat Clement '67, has been elected the corresponding secretary of Student Council. Pat now writes for the IASC's (Illinois Association of Student Council) statewide news paper, The Reporter.

On Jan. 16th the Debate Team competed at Deerfield. The junior varsity team was made up of Chris Sparrow '65, and Dick Cornielius '65, affirmative; and Kitty Kinser '67, and Randy Dean '65, negative. The varsity was made up of Dawn Piotter '65, and Rob Reinhart '65, affirmative; and Joy Heckenbach '66, and Doug Bergman '67, negative. The final score was five wins and three losses. They placed in the upper half of the teams competing.

Seniors Mary Jefferson, Dan Colvin, and John Congalton attended an "Interracial Students for Action" meeting, at Senn High School on Jan. 9th. Forty students from Student Councils all over the Chicagoland area met, with the idea that "Chance makes brothers, but heart makes friends."
The top 10 bowlers of both Boys' Bowling Club and Girls' Bowling Club were matched against each other on Thursday, Jan. 14th. The 10 girls and 10 boys were divided into two teams of five each. The outcome was a tie, with each team winning three. The top 10 girl bowlers were Lee Winski '66, Mary Pepmiller '66, Barb Colberg '65, Judy Schimka '66, Nancy Olig '66, Renee Chapman '66, Diana Shelffo '65, Pam Holmgren '66.
