Hot chocolate is sold in cafe |

| "My one complaint is that students leave the cafeteria untidy and are careless with the silverware," said Mrs. Gloria K. Saul, cafeteria manager. "Do you realize that just one fork costs 55 cents and one spoon 40 cents? The more money that is spent on silverware, the less money we can use for preparing varieties of foods, such as shrimp and pizza," Mrs. Saul commented. For the first time on Dec. 3rd, hot chocolate was sold in the cafeteria at 10 cents a cup. This happened after a committee from Student Council made the request. The hot chocolate is contained in a thermo cup which keeps it hot. Although this new item is available, it is being made so at a loss in revenue from the State Milk program. |
"Approximately 75 cups of hot chocolate are being sold each school day," said Mrs. Saul. It is available at the hamburger line closest to A-wing. Menus of hot lunches are posted in each homeroom for the students' benefit. This is also a result from a Student Council request. Mr. George Blanas, Art Department chairman, designed the menu holders. Descriptions of the food will help the students select what they want for lunch. Mrs. Saul suggests that the students of Maine West should realize that the people working in the cafeteria are there to help them. They are trying to prepare food that is both nutritious and enjoyable. |
