Key club cleans flags

If you have seen some very energetic and business-like boys dashing around school performing public services, no doubt they are the members of Key Club. This club, one of the prides of Maine, works as a service organization for the school and community. It is sponsored by Kiwanis International, a service organization of businessmen.

Recently the boys have taken on the project of getting the flags from each class room cleaned and mended. Some were found to be in such a condition that the boys are trying to find a way to replace them. Another service Key Club now performs is care for the flag that is raised in front of the school every school day.
Officials of the club are Gordon Scherer '65, president; Gun-ther Semper '66, vice president; Mark Weaver '67, secretary; John Ellis '66, treasurer. Along with sponsor Mr. Elden Burk, science teacher, all members have been working on projects.

A soap drive held before Christmas brought in over. 900 bars which were sent to the Dixon State Hospital.

Key Club members have been working in the parking lot since this school term began. A few selected members will appear on WGN TV's Saturday traffic program. It deals with rules, regulations, and traffic laws.
