Matmen Take Three In Row

The varsity grapplers will invade the Forest View Falcons tonight. The Westmen will be trying to extend their winning streak to four meets.

Maine West's varsity grappiers subdued Oak Park Tuesday, 28-14. Tom Hansch came from behind to get the only pin. Mordue, Krumpos, Deahr, Stamhorski, Ryden, Cichowski, and Proxmarer won by decision. This victory was the grapplers' third in a row, with proceeding victories over Wheeling and Glenbrook North. The matmen are in third place in Conference, only one meet from the lead.

Ron Ploshay pinned his man in 13 seconds last Friday, as the Warriors punished the Wheeling Wildcats 45-2. Mordue, Ploshay, Hansch and Kruse pinned their men. Deahr, Rozanski, Stamborski, Batista, Ryden, Cichowski, and Proxmarer won by decisions. Krumpos tied his man. Near Perfection Warrior grapplers won all but one weight class in the Glenbrook North meet. Batista, Proxmarer, and Kruse pinned their men as the matmen won 39-3. Mordue, Ploshay, Krumpos, Rozanski, Stamborski, Hansch, Ryden, and Cichowski all won by decisions.
In the Lake Park Quadrangular meet, the Warriors finished second. Cichowski, Hansch, Kruse captured firsts. Mordue, Ploshay, Krumpos, Ryden, and Proxmarer copped seconds, with a third for Rozanski. Kautz, Koulentees, and Stamborski finished fourth in their respective weight classes.

JV's Tie, Win

After tying the wrestling match with Glenbrook North 23-23 the Junior Varsity wrestling squad whipped Wheeling 36-6.

The Sophs also beat Gienbrook North 44 to 11, and defeated the Wheeling Wildcats 41-9.

In two matches with similar scores, the Frosh wrestlers defeated Wheaton 36-18 and Wheeling 38-16.
