Faculty Plans Trips Feb. 11 |
||||||||||
| "Last spring we started work on the new plans for Teachers' Institute Day, and now that it is coming nearer we are working even harder to make it a great success," commented Mrs. Lucille Stiles, Institute Committee Member. The faculty and administrators of the entire township, that includes the three Maine high schools, the junior highs and the grammar schools, will participate in this annual event. On Thursday, Feb. 11th, school will be closed, and the teachers will enjoy a schedule of educational field trips. |
Some 30 field trips have been planned. Nine of the trips are sponsored by the Inter-racial Council of Christians and Jews. These groups will visit a variety of places which include Chinatown and several different worship centers. Among the remaining 21 trips will be included the Criminal Courts Building, the FBI, the Art Institute, WGN studios, and American Motors, Kenosha, Wisconsin. This plan is different from last year's when the teachers attended a series of meetings and speeches. |
