"Personality Plus"

Harriet Hall, a 5' blond haired beauty is one of the ten lucky finalists. She is presently V‑Show director and a Student Council representative. In the past she was a cheerleader, represented her Sophomore Class in the Christmas formal court, and was president of her Junior Class. What determines a Homecoming Queen? "I think a real queen should have personality, popularity, and beauty plus charm and poise." "Homecoming, to me, means a time to come out and support our team."

"Great Opportunity"

Dark brown hair and eyes creates an aura of charm around 5'2" Sue Kabot. Sue is presently on the Westerner staff, and in the past she has been on class council, Pep Club, and a representative of the Junior Class at last year's Christmas formal. Asked if she had anything to say to the students of Maine, she replied, "They're all so friendly, and I feel so close to most of them. I want to thank them for such an opportunity."

"Most Important Event"

"I couldn't believe that I had really made the finals. It still seems like a dream," murmured 5'8" Cindy Kaechele, a green eyed blond‑haired finalist. She thinks a combination of personality, popularity and beauty determines a Homecoming Queen but personality and beauty are the main factors. "A personality shows through in one's look, and a smile is anyone's greatest asset." Cindy has participated in Pep Club, Pom‑Pom Squad, V‑ Show, Aquiana, and class council during her four years here at Maine. To her "Homecoming is the most important event during the school year."

Connie Lambrecht's dark brown hair and eyes lend a Tahitian‑like beauty to her 5' 5" frame. Her years at Maine have been kept busy by Pom‑Pom Squad, Student Council, and V‑show choreographer '65‑'66. When asked what it would mean to her to become Homecoming Queen, she replied, "It would be the greatest, but I'm too nervous to even think about it!" Homecoming to her is "a time when everyone works together on one project, and when the day finally arrives, it's like a piñata bursting‑everyone feels bubbly!" To the students of Maine West she proudly says, "You've got a great school support Homecoming."

"Greatest Honor"

The exquisite charm of Helen Lindquist is supplied by her tall slim frame, large blue eyes and topped by short blonde hair. To become Homecoming Queen would "be the greatest honor I can think of. A Homecoming Queen is a combination of personality, popularity, and beauty plus all other good qualities such as truth, thoughtfulness, etc." In her years at Maine, V‑Show, class council and makeup crew have kept Helen busy, while school work has taken up a very large part of her days. She hopes all the students will come out to the float headquarters.

"School Unifies"

Brown hair and eyes accent the 5'2" frame of perky Cheri Mercer. Her first reaction when she heard she made the finals, "I flunked my English test!!" If she became Homecoming Queen, "It would be a great honor for it would be exciting representing my school." To her "Personality, popularity, and beauty determine a Homecoming queen, although it seems to me that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and it isn't necessarily physical." Her four years at Maine have been filled with activities such as cheerleading, Brotherhood, art director of V‑Show, and class council. 'Homecoming is a time when the whole school unifies to become one.

"Homecoming is a time when the school is fired up the most, and school spirit is the greatest. I hope that personality is one of the main factors which determine a Homecoming Queen. A combination of personality, popularity, and beauty would probably make the best queen," Linda mentioned. She participated in Student Council, Brotherhood Society, Thespian Society, and Pep Club during her four years of school here at Maine.
