Students Use Library At Night

"The Maine West Library will be open to all residents of Des Plaines on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. beginning on October 4," supplied Mr. Willis Lindeman, head librarian of the Maine West library.

Only students of Maine West will be allowed to check out materials from the library for home use. Any resident of Des Plaines, however, will be able to use materials during library hours. The Board of Education has stated that anyone using the school library at night will have to sign in and out.

Even though the library is open during non‑school hours, students will be expected to maintain the same behavior standards regarding rules and regulations as during the school day. No gum chewing, loud talking, horseplay, etc. will be allowed.

To benefit the students, the library has added many new books to its present stock. Among these are 1100 new biographies to help students further their knowledge of famous people. These new materials combined with the present stock of books should prove to be good reading material for all interested.

Parking will be available in the C‑wing parking lot to those using the library facilities.

Mr. Lindeman requests that "you come for an evening of quiet study."
