Fund Begins for Lights

The Dads' Club and the Board of Education are sponsoring a program to raise money for lights for Maine West's football field. With lights the stadium will become more useful since more activities will be able to be held there. "Among these," Mr. Kenneth Olson stated, "will be night football games and track meets."

The Dads' Club will raffle off a 1966 Cadillac to raise money for the lights. Chances a $1 each and are on sale now. Tickets can be purchased from any member of Student Council, Class Council, M-Club, Boys' Club Council,

Girls' Club Council, Pep Council, or GAA until the drawing which will be held on May 1 at Rand Park.

If the Dads' Club can raise the $5,000 for the lights, the Board of Education will donate the rest of the needed money.


The Board of Education decided to extend Easter vacation. Maine's students will have two extra days. Spring vacation will start on Thursday, April 7, at 3:10 p.m.; and school will resume on Monday, April 18, at 8:15 am.
