Group To Tour

This year's starting date for the annual Mexican Tour is April 8. Six teachers and 45 students from the three Maine Township High Schools will spend their Easter vacation touring Mexico.

The trip will include many exciting sights such as Acapulco, Mexico City ‑ the capital of Mexico, Cuernavaca, Taxco, and many other tourist prone places. A main attraction on their third day will be the bullfights. The whole day is scheduled in such a way that the participants will be allowed time for themselves besides the scheduled tours.

The three teachers going along as chaperones are Mr. George Kalins, Maine East; Miss Margaret Lowery, Maine South; and Mrs. Bernice Gundelach,

Maine West. It will be the first time for Mrs. Gundelach to go to Mexico, whereas, Mr. Kalins has been there approximately eight times, and Miss Lowery has been there approximately 15 times.

Mrs. Gundelach, who will be accompanied by her husband, is going generally as a chaperone and not a nurse, says, "Naturally, if my services are needed, I will help."

Added attractions of this year's trip are an extra day in Acapulco, a three hour cruise on the Acapulco Bay, and a plane trip from Mexico City to Acapulco. The group will fly direct from Mexico City to Chicago.
