College Night will be held April 5, from 7:30 to 9:10 p.m. There will be three 30‑minute sessions to give the students who are thinking about or planning to go to college an opportunity to meet and talk with representatives from 85 American colleges and universities.
Students who attend will visit representatives from three schools which they will have previously selected. Parents are also urged to attend and participate in the classroom‑type discussions. Among the topics to be discussed are entrance requirements, costs, and financial aid. The sessions will be from 7:30 to 8:00, 8:05 to 8:35, and 8:40 to 9:10 p.m. All Maine West students are eligible to attend.
Mr. Fred Bencriscutto, college and career counselor at Maine West, stated, "This is an excellent opportunity for juniors to explore three schools and obtain information about them, especially if the students would like to visit any of the schools this summer.'' Also the information is valuable to the juniors taking the American College
Test this spring, because the students are asked to list three schools to which they would like to have their test scores sent.

College Night is also important to the seniors who have not yet been accepted at a college and to the freshmen and sophomores, who should get a basic understanding about college procedures and begin exploring college possibilities.
Juniors are especially urged to get an early start on college plans because of all the factors to take into consideration. These factors include the size of the college, entrance requirements, costs, financial aid‑if needed activities and facilities offered, majors, summer courses, graduate work, and student employment.
Some of the colleges which will be represented are Augustana College, Beloit College, Bradley University, Cornell College, universities in Illinois‑Northern, Southern, Western. Urbana, Chicago Circle‑Drake University, Friends University, Knox College, Parsons College, and Wheaton College. Various military academies and nursing schools will also be represented at the annual college night.
