Tea Honors Members

The National Honor Society held its annual tea on March 16 in the cafeteria. The social hour was conducted for all new members of the organization, and refreshments were served. Speaking to the group was Larry Hofmann '66, president of the society. Other officers present were Ed Nichols '66, vice-president; Drusilla Owens '66, secretary: Julia Szabo '66, treasurer: and Miss Anne Lauterbach, faculty sponsor.

The initiation for the new members will be held on Friday, May 6, at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. The guests will include faculty members and friends and relatives of the students. The formal initiation will include brief explanations of the four requisites for membership to the society. Speaking on character will be John Hollenback '66, on service will be Robin Swain '66, on leadership will be Bob Burgess '66, and on scholarship will be Carol Collister '66.

Mr. Herman Rider, principal of Maine West, will present the new members while Joy Heckenbach '66 and Drusilla Owens '66 will distribute the pins. Nancy Kruse '66 will hand out the membership cards. Concluding the initiation Larry Hofmann will administer the pledge of membership to all new members.

Mr. Ralph J. Frost, Jr., assistant superintendent of Maine High Schools, has been invited to be the guest speaker for the evening. Following the program, members and guests will attend a reception in the cafeteria.
