Student Council for the past two weeks has been working on two main projects: the Junior High Leadership Convention and the Living Pictures Assemblies.

Last Saturday, May 1, Council sponsored the Junior High School Leadership Convention for all the future leaders of Maine West. Saturday morning all students invited assembled for their first view of how Council is run. They were versed in the official procedure of this organization and in the basic functions of Council. They were also led in the right direction of how to make the best of their role as a leader.

This Convention was sponsored by the Public Relations Committee of Student Council.

Next week marks the start of the Living Pictures Assembly. Every morning a program honoring the patriots of America will be presented to the students having homeroom in the auditorium.

In these assemblies movies of different people will be shown, and different people will speak on various topics of patriotism.

Lastly, congratulations are extended to all the new members of next year's Student Council.
