M-Club To Sponsor Dance
on Saturday

"I feel that a dance is a good idea, and everyone in M-Club should show up at it." This is the comment made by Jim Kautz '66, M‑Club president, concerning the M‑Club Dance. The annual dance, sponsored by M‑Club, is to be held on May 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

Dress at the dance will be sport coats and ties for the boys, and for the girls dresses will be appropriate. The refreshments will consist of coke and cookies. A band has not yet been decided upon.

Jim says that there has always been an M‑Club Dance; and as far as he knows, they have been successful. He is hoping that this year's dance won't spoil the tradition. He added that at least half, if not two‑thirds of the members of M‑Club, plan to attend the dance.

M‑Club is an organziation of about 80 boys who have earned letters in some sport at school.

The club is known for its popcorn sales at the football and basketball games. The members also sold tickets for the donkey basketball and M‑Club‑Faculty games, which they also participated in, and for lights for the football stadium. Mr. Roy Kearns, Maine West physical education teacher, is the sponsor of the club.

Jim Kautz also feels that M-Club is a very worthwhile organization; it does a lot to support sportsmanship among the Maine West athletes.

One last comment Jim had to make about the dance was "M‑Club is a great organization, and the members should support it by coming to the dance."

Dennis Doyle '66 is the chairman of the dance, and Paul Moehling '66 is the chairman of the decorations committee. Other officers of M‑Club this year are Paul Moehling '66, vice‑president; Dennis Doyle '66, secretary; and Kevin Flurkey '66, treasurer.
