"I am really looking forward to Girls' State since my brother told me how great Boys' State was when he went," commented Patti Radlein, this year's junior class representative from Maine West.

Girls from all parts of the state will meet this year at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, from June 21 until June 28. At the meeting they will have a

chance to learn exactly how state government is run and also to meet many new friends.

Illinois Girls' State is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. Each year a junior girl is selected from every high school in the state. Each girl is chosen by the high school's counselors and the Auxiliary itself.
