Present Editors Announce Staffs

Highlighting the Quill and Scroll Banquet at Nielsen's Restaurant on May 12 was the announcement of the 1966‑67 Legend and Westerner staffs.

Announcing the newspaper staff was Marlene Lorenz, present editor of the Westerner. Editor‑in‑chief for next year's Westerner will be Karen Felix. Co‑managing editors will be Cheryl Bard and Ellen Dick. Page 1 editor will be Jacque La Salle. Her assistant will be Marilyn Brock.

Page 2 editor will be Diane Cozzi. Her assistants will be Jan Grubert and Mary Ann Jados. Candy Crowe was picked as the page 3 editor, and Pat Winecke will be her assistant.

Jerry Reid will be next year's page 4 editor, with Ted Fess and Tim McCartney serving as his assistants. Lynne Handler and Sandy Hurley were chosen as art editors.

Marcia Moulton will serve as exchange editor, and Larry Moseley and Bob Therriault will be the photographers.

Wendy Geertz announced the Legend staff for 1966‑67. Heading the 1966‑67 Legend staff will be Linda Virostko as editor‑in-chief. Anita Waskowski will serve as the business manager. Senior editor for next year will be Marge Gasteier with Suzan Miller acting as her assistant, and Elizabeth Grange will serve as class editor with Janet Moranz as her assistant.

Dick Schellin, Paul Halverson, and Keith Nelson will be in charge of the sports department as sports editor and sports assistants, respectively. Mary Smith will act as organizations editor with Kathy Geertz as her assistant.

Melissa Amling, with her assistants Ann Blonston and Kathie Wolf, will be in charge of the clubs. Activities editor will be Sue Ripley, and Joan Walter will serve as her assistant. Viv Geiger will be the faculty editor, and Pam Barger will be the administration editor.

Ted Waskowski will hold the new position of staff editor, Lynette Berry will be the technical assistant, and Larry Moseley will do the special photography.

The new Quill and Scroll members are Cheryl Bard, Marianne Bretsnyder, Ellen Dick, Ted Fess, Peggy Fisher, Jan Grubert, Mary Ann Jados, Barbara Lonchar, Mandy Reitz, Linda Virostko, Dick Schellin, Anita Waskowski, Jacque La Salle, and Penny Feltz.

Non‑member service awards went to Anna Fahnestock, Bill Grice, Leslie Howard, Sue Kabot, Tim McCartney, and Kris Nielsen.

Mr. Clifford Rowe of the Chicago Sun‑Times was the guest speaker at the smorgasbord. Other special guests included Miss Mae Jean Engen, Mr. A. K. H. Cochrane, and Mr. Herman Rider. Mr. George Walker is the sponsor of Quill and Scroll, the Legend, and the Westerner.
