On Tuesday, May 24, a reception for our AFS students, Gus Herrero and Velma Welch, will be held in R‑104 at 8 p.m. Student Council and the Des Plaines Chapter of the American Field Service will sponsor the event.

Everyone is invited to attend this farewell to Gus and Velma, to end their stay in America on a happy note.


Congratulations are also in order for the newly elected Student Council officers for the year 1966‑67. As previously announced, Doug Chase is president and Mary Holm, secretary. Bill Prentice has been elected vice‑president; Debbie Hower, treasurer; Sheila Quinn is head of organizations committee; Bonnie Witzel is chairman of public relations; Donna Ladendorf has been elected head of citizenship and service and Bill Caddy is in charge of social committee. These officers took over their positions officially yesterday.

Arlette Dawson has been chosen V‑Show Director for 1966‑67. Pete Dellegrazio was selected vice‑president of the Mid‑Central Suburban League of student councils. Dolores Webster has been chosen as the delegate to this league.


The council members who will attend Student Council summer camps have also been selected. Doug Chase and Mary Holm will go to Camp Cheley sometime in mid‑August. The representative to Kelly's Island is Pete Dellegrazio. His alternate is Pat Clement.
