"All you have to be is slightly coordinated and have a natural smile, show some school spirit, and try out because everyone has an equal chance," advises Pat Mollenkamp '66, this year's pom pom squad captain, regarding tryouts for next year's squad.

The girls who are trying out will attend clinics on May 18, 19, and 20. Preliminary tryouts will take place on the following Monday. The remaining girls will attend a

clinic the following day in preparation for the finals. Twelve girls will be chosen at the finals on May 25.

Something new has been added to the requirements for the pom pom girls. Not only must they have permission slips from their parents and a C average, but also two faculty recommendations before they may try out.
