West To Hold Commencement

The seventh annual commencement exercises for Maine Township High School West will be held in the Maine East field house on Thursday, June 9, 1966, at 8 p.m.

The program will open with a fanfare by Mr. Jared Spears composed especially for Maine West's graduations. The Concert Band will then play the processional under the direction of Mr. Robert D. Kuite. Included in the processional will be the "Grand March" from Berdi's "Aida" and "March Processional" by Grundman. A student guard will make the presentation of colors. This will be followed by the National Anthem.

The Reverend Craig Massey from the Des Plaines Bible Church will give the invocation. Peter Kulik, senior class president, will make the welcoming address and introduce the salutatorian and valedictorian who will, in turn, give the commencement addresses.

The presentation of scrolls to Mrs. Valerie Hackett and Miss Ruth Smith, retiring staff members, will be made by Mr. Herman L. Rider, principal of Maine Township High School West. Also retiring this year will be Dr. Earle W. Wiltse, superintendent of Township High School District 207.

Making the presentation of the class will be Dr. Earle W. Wiltse. Mr. John W. Wilkins, president of the Board of Education, will then accept the class.

The diplomas will be presented by Mr. John W. Wilkins, Mr. E. Hoy McConnell, Mr. John L. Means, and Mr. William T. Newport. They are all members of the Board of Education.

After the completion of the presentation of diplomas, the Class of 1966 will sing the Maine West Alma Mater. Following the Alma Mater will be the recessional. The recessional will include "Pomp and Circumstance" by Elgar, "Pomp land Chivalry" by Roberts, and Coleman's "University Grand March."

Mr. George Walker Jr. and Mr. Garth Boyer will announce the graduates' names. It is requested that the audience remain seated until the recessional is completed.
