Goodbye Kids!

Yes, it's good‑by till next year for all, and good‑by forever to our dearly beloved seniors. Some of you will be leaving with tears and others with smiles, but all (I'm sure) will miss good old Maine West. And Maine will miss you, too. For instance, whatever will the harmony class do next year without Paul Hummel's watch?

A question to senior boys, Bob Kunkel in particular‑are you going to take down your pin‑ups, or are you going to leave them for next year's students fortunate enough to get your lockers?

I hear Kathy Schunemann has miraculously turned into a lobster? Tony Lentini has been seen clomping around the halls in his grandfather's gym shoes. They're real pretty colors too, blue, white, and black.

Rich McKenna and Mike Tures seem to think they've been around long enough to take over lunchroom proceedings. They refuse to let anyone into lines unless they personally approve. Talk about drunk with power!

How come Russ White's bass drum is all of a sudden so heavy? Sensitive about your car, Phil Reich? Wonder if you'll be the same way about your new motorcycle. Steve Ryden got one, too. (A motorcycle, that is.) Then, there's Greg Gundling, who is getting a new Triumph soon. Congratulations!

Ray Miller's letter from a "secret pal" has got Dodie Gough really worried. Doug Van De Mark (Jon, if you want to be technical) is a teacher's mechanic. This is news to everyone! The girls from 5b lunch had a party recently. Speaking of parties, Robin Swain, Linda Meyer, Chris Haarvig, Julia Szabo, Linda Waters, Cheryl Fradet, Bette Riska, Nancy Carlson, and Penny Fowler had a real live banquet during 6b lunch, complete with white table‑cloth, place‑settings, and fancy victuals.

Goodbye to all the senior members of Uncle Willie's Warriors (more generally known as Choraliers!) from all the "other" members.

And now I must bid you all a fond farewell and leave with a warning. Be careful over the summer, for the eyes of Morfit will still be secretly upon you. And to our graduating seniors, congratulations, good luck, and, sob, . . .we will miss you tons.

Have a great summer!
Morfit and the Phynques
