Two Senior Boys Receive Art Awards

This year the art department at Maine West has been fortunate enough to have two senior boys who have received a number of art awards. The boys are Randy Black and Mike Brennan.

Randy Black has received many regional gold key awards in Wieboldt's Randhurst Art Competition in his past four years at Maine West. This year he was the recipient of a gold medal from New York for his outstanding wood‑art print called "The City."

After he graduates, Randy plans to pursue commercial art in college.

Mike Brennan is the other talented senior art award winner. Mike has received many gold keys regionally as well as being the recipient of a gold medal for a watercolor.

Mike has also done a poster for which he used a brochure for his idea. This piece of art work is now being displayed at the national exhibition in New York. If Mike wins an award for this, he will be the recipient of a $900 scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute.
