In Council

by Christine Birchfield

Unity is extremely necessary in Council. Homecoming this year was successful because almost everyone participated. Now V‑show, the main moneymaking project of Council, is coming up. Everyone should participate. Originality and spirit often count more than talent. So that should include a lot of us. Besides, V‑show is fun (work, of course, too). Dance chorus tryouts are October 11. November 1 is the beginning of act tryouts. Sign‑up sheets must be in by October 27. From Bob and Lynne:

"Dxar Pxoplx,

Public Relations Committee reports that the Dial Tone is now on sale. Dial Tone is the all‑school phone directory. Since it is coming out very early this year, SC has been forced to raise the price to 50 cents a copy. At any rate the directory is well worth your money.

In case you haven't noticed, Student Council has an apple vending machine near the bus concourse, for all you fruit lovers.

Your suggestions, comments. and criticisms are welcome. So let's submit them in either the SC suggestion box or the Westerner news box. Please throw your apple cores in the wastebaskets.
