Open House Held Here

The PTC Open House will be held Tuesday, November 9, and Tuesday, November 16, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Parents whose last names begin with A to M will come on November 9, and parents whose last names begin with N to Z will come on November 16.

When the parents enter the building, they will be given a list containing the teachers' names in alphabetical order and the rooms that they will be in. The parents will then go to these rooms and spend two or three minutes talking with each teacher. Then, when they finish talking to the teacher, the parents will be able to go to the cafeteria for cake and coffee.

Mr. Wells said that the main object of the Open House is to let the parents and teachers meet and get better acquainted. Mr. Wells also said, "We can expect a large turnout. The last few years we have had 2,000 people come. We hope to do as well this year."

On November 9 and November 16, school will be dismissed at 2:20. The seventh period will be omitted on both days. Students will go from sixth period directly to eighth period, after which students will go home.

There will be a limit of three minutes for the conversations between the parent and the teacher so that the teacher will be able to see every parent. If conferences are needed, they can be made by appointment during school hours.

These Open Houses, sponsored by the Parent Teacher Council are an annual affair. They are held in conjunction with American Education Week which is the second week of November.

Refreshments will be served in the cafeteria. Also hosts and hostesses will be present in most rooms to help the teachers.
