Seasons Theme of V‑Show

Plans for the 1966 Variety Show are under way. The show will be presented on February 3, 4, and 5 so acts will soon be chosen and rehearsals will begin.

The four seasons of the year is the theme of V‑Show, and the acts deal with various holidays or happenings on the calendar, presented seriously or with a touch of fantasy. Acts are chosen on the basis of originality, adaptability, organization, and potential.

Act Ideas

The types of acts used include solos, duets, group singing, skits, monologues, novelty dances, pantomimes, and musical arrangements. Ideas for fall may be Halloween, Thanksgiving, back‑to‑school, or Indian summer. For winter there is Christmas, New Year's Day, winter sports, school life, or Valentine's Day. Easter Parade, graduations, proms, and spring sports would all be ideas for spring. Summer ideas could be Fourth of July, beach parties, baseball, and vacations.

The Girls' Dance Chorus Clinic was held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, October 13-15. Actual tryouts were held on Monday and Tuesday, October 18-19.
