Does the date, November 11, mean anything to you? It should: it's Veterans' Day!
Nowadays, people just think of Veterans' Day as a day when they have to get up early in the morning to put out their flags, but there's more to it than meets their eyes. They, like most of us, don't consider the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who gave part of their lives to fight for us . . . or their whole lives. How many people ever think of that?
Maybe we should take a closer look at this day. Formerly, Veterans' Day was known as Armistice Day, a holiday honoring those veterans, both living and dead, who served in our country's armed forces in war times.

Did you know that on this day at 11:00 a.m. everyone should face the east and meditate for two minutes. Your parents more than likely had to do this every November 11 when they were in school. Sounds corny, doesn't it or does it?
If all those men were willing to give their lives to fight for us, we should certainly be able to donate two minutes of our lives to them.
American men didn't go out to fight just for fun and excitement. They were serious, and most of them probably didn't really want to fight. They did it because our country needed them.
