AEW Begins Active Week

The week of November 7‑13 will be honored as American Education Week. In the past the significance of this week has not been stressed enough, so this year, the Home Economics Club has taken on the responsibility of honoring AEW as a project.

The idea behind this project is to render a service to the school, faculty, and students by sponsoring smaller projects each day of AEW.

During the previous years the faculty has stressed the significance of American Education Week to the students. The members of the Home Economics Club have decided to turn the tables and show the faculty that the students clearly understand this week's importance.

"We are going at it with the idea that the emphasis will carry over to the other 51 weeks of the year," said Mrs. Lucille Stiles, head of the Home Economics department.

The tentative schedule, that the club will undertake, follows. Monday, November 8, in the freshman assembly, Mr. Herman Rider will be presented with an American Education Week flag that is to be flown below the American flag during this week. Tuesday, November 9, flowers will be put in the faculty dining room. Wednesday, November 10, the club will sell candy made by the members. Thursday, November 11, is Veterans' Day; therefore, classes will not be in session. Friday, November 12, the foreign exchange students will be honored.
