Brown‑haired, brown‑eyed, 5'7" Miss Marsha Hyatt is a new gym teacher at Maine West and also the sponsor of Aquiana. Her opinion of her students is, "They are a very high‑spirited group, and the majority are cooperative and nice."
Miss Hyatt believes that the best things about Maine West are the student's attitude of helpfulness and the school spirit in general. She dislikes nothing about Maine.
"Maine has better facilities than any other school I have visited," remarked Miss Hyatt. Her advice to students is that they take advantage of the facilities and use them to their full extent.
Miss Hyatt is a graduate of Bowling Green University, Bowling Green, Ohio, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in education. This is her first year of teaching. She will not be on the staff next year because of her forthcoming marriage. The wedding, scheduled for June 25, will take place in Medina, Ohio.
Gum chewing is Miss Hyatt's pet peeve. She remarked that it makes girls look unfeminine.
The funniest incident that has happened to her occurred when she started teaching at Maine West. She let her students go to their next classes when the half period bell rang. Miss Hyatt has had so many embarrassing moments that she couldn't think of one that stood out in her mind.
During her spare time, which isn't very often because she sponsors Aquiana, Miss Hyatt likes to sew, draw, swim, and do anything connected with art.

"I am very impressed with the cohesive student body and faculty." This was the reply of Miss Nadine Meyers, art teacher, when asked what impressed her most about Maine West.
Miss Meyers, who stands 5' 5", went on to say that Maine offers great opportunities to all students and gives them a chance to express themselves. She said a good example of this is V‑Show of which she is sponsoring the set making. In describing the students, she said they are a friendly and spirited group who work well together. Her advice to them is to study and work hard.
Before she settled here at Maine, Miss Meyers taught adult evening classes in Elk Grove Village, gave lectures, and supervised tours at the Art Institute where she attended school. She also attended the University of Chicago and Sullivan High School in Rogers Park.
What keeps her busy in her spare time? She says that art is her life in all aspects, especially pottery. Miss Meyers will have a ceramic pottery display of her work at the Rogers Park Library this November. Most of her time is spent preparing lessons for her three classes, Art I, Art II, and Crafts I & II combined. In past summers Miss Meyers has traveled to New York where she visited many museums and saw many plays. Next summer she will be working on her master's degree in her favorite city, Chicago.
Miss Meyers says that teaching is a wonderful, self‑rewarding profession. She enjoys seeing her students grow in knowledge.
