On Friday, November 5, 1965, the "Traveling Trophy" was presented to Maine West by two representatives from Prospect High School: one, a member of Prospect's football team, and the other, the president of Prospect's Student Council. The two boys, John Ryan and Bill Dix, presented the trophy to Rick Isenbarger, president of Maine West's Boys' Club. Rick presented the trophy to the football team.

This event was sponsored by Prospect's Student Council and the Maine West Boys' Club.

Maine West's victory over Prospect, 40‑7, resulted in our getting the trophy. The turn‑out at the assembly was good.
