Gymnasts To Battle Evanston
Musclemen Face Tough Season

Evanston will be the gymnasts first meet of the season; according to varsity gymnastics coach Sid Drain, it will be a tough meet. The Wildcats of Evanston took state championship last year, and most of their members will be back again. This is a rebuilding year for the varsity squad, after losing all but five lettermen last season. The meet will be at Maine West on Wednesday, November 24, at 4:30 in B‑Wing gym.

Forest View, Conant, Prospect, Wheeling, and Palatine are the members of the Warriors' Conference this year and will make up five of the 16 varsity meets. Coach Drain believes that Prospect will probably be the toughest opponent in Conference.

This year's varsity gymnastics squad will be made up of Larry Scully, Jim Nerius, Ron Sass, Ray Mandel, Don Kennett, Dennis Zick, Larry Janssens, Don Clark, Bob Dettner, Ken Malten, Garry Grooman, Jay Carley, Greg Gundling, Tim Harrity, Howard Tyler, Jim Allegretti, Brad Reay, John Holtz, Bob Wahls, and Mike Mundt.

Last year the varsity gymnasts took second place in Conference with five wins and only one loss. The overall record or the season was seven wins, seven losses, and one tie.
