Winter Formal Highlights Season

Snowflakes, starlight, swirling dresses, and soft music provide the perfect setting for this year's Christmas formal. The Boys' Club is again sponsoring the dance, this year "Snowflakes by Starlight." The soft and glittery evening will begin at 8:30 p.m. and last until 11:30 p.m. December 18.

Tickets for the dance may be purchased in the cafeteria for $2.00 per couple beginning Monday or Tuesday, December 6 or 7.

At least one person attending the formal must go to Maine West, and identification cards will be checked. As usual, no tickets will be sold at the door.

Rick Isenbarger, president of Boys' Club, feels the dance will be a "great dance" and hopes "everyone will come."

Playing will be Frank Derrik and his nationally known orchestra. In fact, some of the men in the orchestra have played with Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. Ed Plumer, in charge of entertainment, has stated, "We've got a real good orchestra this year. It'll be great for dancing."

The theme will be carried out in blue, white, and gold bids and decorations. Snowflakes and "starlight" will comprise the beautiful, unusual decorations.

Highlights of the dance will be the crowning of the Christmas queen, a senior girl. This past week the boys in each homeroom nominated girls for the court, and the Seniors, girls for court and queen. One girl from each class will be elected to the court, and the Senior girl with the highest number of votes will become queen.
