The challenging questions of It's Academic were met with victory by Colin Baenziger '66, Ed Nichols '66, and Julie Szabo '66, the representatives from Maine West.

When asked how she felt about winning, Julie replied, "I was terribly relieved and pleased that we won." Ed added, "I felt great. I wanted to win as much as I want to graduate." Colin summed up his feeling in one word, "Exuberant."

The program, which was taped at the Merchandise Mart, was televised Saturday, November 27 at 6 p.m.

After defeating Josephinum and Dwight D. Eisenhower, Maine went on to the second round, this time competing with Aurora West and Evergreen Park. The second show was taped on October 7 and will be shown December 11 on NBC at 6 p.m. Miss Ruth Nickelson, English teacher, stated, "In February we'll start planning the next show."

Now that the TB drive has ended with the Senior class as the victors, the Student Council is eagerly planning this year's Variety Show to be held February 3, 4, and 5.

Betty Riska is the general business manager, and Dolores Webster is recruiting volunteers for usherettes.

In charge of ticket sales is Terry Ritter. Tickets will be on sale beginning January 17. For the first night of the show, Thursday, they will be $1.00 for reserved seats. Mr. Collister, sponsor of Student Council, hopes to have a full house.

AFS Week is set for March 7‑11 instead of the first week in January, as last year.
