WMTH Begins

Maine West has its own radio station which is WMTH. It began this year's season of broadcasting on December 6. Monday through Friday it can be heard from 1:45 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. To hear our school's station, dial 88.5 on the FM dial.

Mrs. Jean Klaus, sponsor of WMTH, related that the broadcasts will generally include sports events, classroom stories, interviews with interesting students and teachers, and musical 'programs.

On the nights of our basketball games, WMTH will be broadcasting from the sidelines. On these occasions the program will last throughout the game.

"WMTH is a rewarding and exciting activity for anyone that is interested in radio work," said Mrs. Klaus. Positions are available for announcers, public relations, promoters, and engineers.

The basics of these positions are announcers ‑ introducing programs, music, events, interviews; public relations promoters ‑ publicity for radio, posters, promoting the incentive to listen to the program; and engineers ‑ arranging records to be played.

For more information about these positions contact Mrs. Klaus.
