Dance Club Keeps Busy

Dance. . Run. . Dance. .Run.

This has been the sequence of activity that the Maine West Modern Dance Club has had to follow in order to keep up with their busy schedule.

One of the first activities that this busy club participated in was a workshop for dance at the University of Illinois at Champaign on November 13. This workshop was sponsored by college majors who gave two master lessons and performed six dances.

This active group will attend another workshop at Palatine High School on December 11. The next day, December 12, they will attend the contemporary Dance Theatre program in Chicago.

Another activity coming up will be a dance number performed by some of the girls in the club to the music, "March of the Toys," at the Maine West Christmas program.

The Modern Dance Club has elected Marilyn Wilke '67, president, Cherie Schuler '68, vice-president, Debbie Fowler '69 secretary, and Carolyn Hummel '69, treasurer.

Miss Kathy Van Ness, the sponsor of the organization, remarked, "For most of the girls in Modern Dance Club, this is a new and different experience; and the enthusiasm they exhibit makes it a pleasure to work with them."
