Gymnasts Drop First Five Meets
of Season

On Tuesday, November 14, the varsity gymnasts met Oak Park here at Maine West and lost their fifth meet, by a score 76‑56. Working on the trampoline for our musclemen were Larry Janssens, who took first; Dennis Zick, who took fifth; and Ray Mandek, who took sixth.

Larry Scully took second on the side horse; Ron Sass captured fifth, and Don Clark was fourth. On the high bar were Ron Sass, third, Jim Nerius, fourth, and Jay Carley, sixth. Ron Sass, Don Kennett, and Larry Scully worked on the parallel bars. Sass captured first, Kennett second, and Scully finished last. Oak Park swept us on the rings with John Holtz taking fourth, Ron Sass taking fifth, and Dennis Zick finishing last. The varsity had only two tumbles ‑ Dennis Zick, who grabbed second and Ray Mandel, who took third.

On Friday, December 10, the musclemen lost to Maine South by the score of 67‑65. Larry Janssens, Dennis Zick, and Ray Mandel worked on the trampoline and took third, fifth, and sixth respectively. Working high bar were Jim Nerius, first;

Ron Sass, fourth; and Jay Carley, fifth. Working the side horse were Larry Scully who took second; Don Clark, third; and Ron Sass who ended fourth. Don Kenett and Ron Sass tied for first on the parallel bars, an event which we won; and Larry Scully finished sixth. On the rings were John Holtz, third; Dennis Zick, fourth; and Ron Sass, fifth. Tumbling for Maine were Dennis Zick, who took first; Ray Mandel, who captured second; and Ron Sass who finished sixth.

The gymnasts' next meet is on January 7 when the musclemen meet Glenbrook South at Glenbrook South.
