MW Workshop Promotes Pep

The Maine West Pep Club sponsored a workshop for schools within a fifteen‑mile radius on January 22. Miss June Thompson, sponsor of Pep Club, stated, "The purpose of this workshop was to exchange and obtain ideas from different schools."

Over 275 students representing 17 different schools attended. The workshop started at 9 a.m. When the students arrived, they were given a name tag and an envelope containing a program, a spirit book about Maine, and evaluation sheets.

A general assembly was held from 9 to 10 a.m. First, Mr. Herman Rider, principal, gave a welcome speech. Nancy Gunn, Pep Club president, then showed slides on the function of Pep Club. Also, Miss Thompson gave a speech on being an active member of an organization.

After the assembly, discussion groups were held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
