Bucketmen Lose Hard-fought Game |
The Varsity bucketmen dropped a hard‑fought battle to the Prospect Knights last Friday night by the score of 47 to 36. Maine held close for three quarters of the ball game, but were not able to contain Prospect's Tom Lunsted, who made 22 points in the second half. Tom Beard and Lunsted of Prospect dominated the rebounding and might have put the contest out of reach early had they not committed so many violations and ball‑handling mistakes. |
a ten point halftime advantage; although the Warriors played strongly in the last two periods, they were unable to overcome the Cougar's lead. Conant employed a 1-2-2 zone defense which limited Maine to outside shots and left Conant in good position to control the rebounding. |
