Falcons Bow To Matmen 24 to 12

Facing Forest View on January 14, the wrestlers again came out victorious by beating the Falcons 24 to 12.

The Warriors gained all their wins by points; no one received a pin. Those scoring for Maine West were Christensen, Ploshay, Rozanski, Dolphin, Hansch, Ryden, Kautz, and Yates.

The Warriors again won when they rolled over the Palatine Pirates 34 to 13. Pins were made by Ploshay at 2:53 of his match, Hansch at 1:37, and Schuepfer at 3:40. Other scorers for West were Grutzius, Christensen, R. Ryden, S. Ryden, and Dolphin, who tied his opponent.

Adding another win, the wrestlers defeated Conant 29 to 14. The heavier divisions proved to be the better with pins by Leonardson in 3:13, 5. Ryden, 1:55, and R. Ryden, 28 seconds. Wins by points were Schuefer, Kautz, Rozanski, and Grutzius with a tie by Christensen.


The Evanston matmen proved to be too strong for the Warriors as West fell 10 to 25. The best showing in the meet was by Gano who pinned his man in 1:47.
