Now is the time for all juniors to think seriously about running for Student Council offices. Petitions come out next Monday, February 28. In order to run for office one must have a 2.5 grade average and fifty friends willing to sign a petition. These petitions must be in by March 4 at 3:45 p.m.
March 7‑11 is pre‑election week. On that Friday the candidates will first be introduced to the student body. The procedures for Election Week will also be announced.
Saturday, March 12, starts the first official campaign work. At this time campaign headquarters first open and work begins on signs, posters, and generalized campaigning. Headquarters will be open on this first day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. No refreshments may be served, and the headquarters must be closed and put in order promptly at 10 p.m. each night.

On Monday, March 14, the campaigning will start in school. From Monday the fourteenth through Wednesday the sixteenth the candidates will campaign from 7:00 to 8:05 am. in the assigned gyms and from 3:10 to 3:30 p.m. in the corridors.
Campaign headquarters will also be open Monday through Wednesday from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. On Thursday the seventeenth the final election assemblies will be held.
Voting will take place during the lunch periods and after school on both Thursday and Friday and also before school on Friday.
The week concludes with the Student Council Banquet and the Election Jitney at which the names of the winning candidates will be announced.
