Pow Wow Offers Fun

Each year the MUSIC BOOSTERS, the parents of the students in Maine's Music Department, are involved in various activities ‑ the most famous being the MUSIC BOOSTERS POW WOW.

This year's Pow Wow will be held on Saturday, March 5, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Maine West. Tickets will be $1 each, and they may be bought at the door or from any student in the Music Department.

Door‑prizes include a portable television set, a portable stereo, a portable typewriter, transistor radios, and record albums. A person does not have to be present to win the prizes. Some of these prizes will be displayed in the music showcase at the end of A‑wing.

The Pow Wow is the MUSIC BOOSTERS' annual fund-raising drive. This year, for the first time, the Pow Wow decorations will be western fashion. Cowboy boots, hats, spurs, peace pipes, bows, arrows, and a teepee will highlight

the decorations in the cafeteria. Mrs. Mildred Heidorn and Tri-M students will do the decorating. The decorations committee consists of Debbie Hower '67, Cathy Sintov '67, and Jacque La Salle '67.

Entertainment will be provided for all age levels. The swimming pool will be open to all for free swimming, and two floor shows will be presented in the auditorium. The Harmonicats, a well‑known harmonica trio, will perform along with Glen Haywood, a magician ventriloquist. Mr. Robert Hayward will act as master of ceremonies.

Other entertainment includes dancing in the cafeteria and a game room in A‑wing gym. Refreshments will be available.

Officers of the MUSIC BOOSTERS are Mr. Clifford Nelson, president; Mr. Harry Kinser, vice‑president; Mrs. R. J. Lilja, secretary; and Mr. L. B. Alford, treasurer. Sixteen couples make up the MUSIC BOOSTERS Board.
