The Maine West varsity swim team participated in the District meet on February 18 and 19 at Evanston. The 200 yard medleyrelay team of Norm Hudson '67, Dave Klamer '67, Paul Anderson '68, and G. T. Wenzel '67 placed third. Freshman Chris Olander took fourth in the 100 yard back stroke and a sixth in the 200 yard individual medley. G. T. Wenzel '67 sprinted to a fifth place in the 50 yard free style.

On February 11‑12 the Maine West varsity tankers traveled to the Niles West pool to swim in a Conference meet. G. T. Wenzel '67 took a fourth in the 50 yard free style. In the 100 yard back stroke Chris Olander '69 swam to a third and Norm Hudson '67 a sixth. The 200 yard medley‑relay placed fifth. Norm Hudson '67, Dave Klamer '67, Paul Anderson '68, and Marc Bonnivier '67 made up the medley‑relay team.

Freshman Chris Olander broke senior Reed Erven's school record in the 200 yard individual medley on February 4. Erven's mark was 2:16:9 while Olander swam to a 2:16:8.
