Enrollment Increases

This year at Maine West the enrollment has risen to 3,025 students, an increase of about 200 from last year. The Sophomores have the largest class with 816 members and the Seniors the smallest with 649.

The Maine West teaching staff has 30 new members this year. The new teachers in the science department are Mr. John Amason, Mr. Floyd Raspiller; language department, Miss Joan Bittner, Mrs. Sandra Haggart, Mrs. Marcia Ryberg; English department, Mr. Frederick Hillman, Mr. Merel Marine, Mr. Robert Norris, Miss Nancy Roha, Mr. Robert Rupar, and Mr. Norris Wika; business education department, Miss Patricia Long, Miss Marcia Storey.

Others are Mr. Steven Hendrikson, Mr. Darold Herdes, Miss Mary Lansdale, Miss Judith Nelson, social studies department; Mrs. Elizabeth Bryant, Miss Katherine Gore, Mrs. Maxine Riley, home economics department; Miss Judith Coddington, Miss Beatrice Dorochek, Miss Mildred McManus, Mr. Robert Retel, and Mrs. Helen Clouser, chairman, physical education department; Mr. Richard Mendrella in the mathematics department; Mr. Eugene Patrizi, Miss Tina Fabachnick, art department; Mr. Robert Twohill, industrial education department; and Mr. James Gary as counselor.
