West Parade To Feature
'Commercials'

On October 8 a big cereal box or a giant in a washer may be seen coming down the street. This is just part of the Homecoming festivities. "Commercials" is the theme.

Float building will officially start on October 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Floats will be built during the week of October 3‑7 from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday. A sponsor must be present at the float headquarters during this time.

The Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen are sponsoring floats. Pep Club and M‑club, band, and the language clubs will also sponsor floats.

The traditional parade, which will consist of the band, the floats, and the Homecoming court, will leave Cumberland Park at 9:45 am. and should pass the Post Office by 10 a.m. The parade will enter the school grounds at 10:45, and the floats will be judged at this time.

The junior varsity game will start at 12 noon against the Forest View Falcons. Between games the floats will parade around the field, at which time first, second, and third place floats will be announced.

During halftime of the varsity game, the Homecoming Queen and her court will be announced. Homecoming will officially come to a close at the annual Homecoming Dance when the queen is crowned.

The locations of the floats are at the homes of these students: Senior Class, Marcy Richey; Junior Class, Lori Nave; Sophomore Class, Birgit Lonergan; Freshman Class, Sue Fess; Band, Don Kaap; and Pep Club M‑club, Dick Manny.
